Western Algarve is an easy, low-drama European kite trip: Ria de Alvor is one of the safest, flattest lagoons in Europe to learn on, and Lagos gives you a proper resort town with beaches, history and nightlife bolted on. It suits beginners, families, and mixed-ability groups where not everyone kites every day. It is not a wild, hardcore wind destination - the Algarve's south-facing thermal is gentler and less reliable than the Nortada that hits Guincho or Tarifa, and the lagoon is tide-dependent, so you plan sessions around tide tables, not just forecasts.
