Paracas

Paracas is a desert bay 3.5-4 hours south of Lima that happens to have reliable wind - it is not a purpose-built kite village and has none of the kite-camp infrastructure or social scene you'd find in Mancora/Vichayito further north or in a place like Cabarete. Itinerary idea

Classic 10-14 day South Coast Peru loop: fly into Lima, then bus/drive 3.5-4h to Paracas for 1-2 nights (Ballestas Islands boat tour, reserve, kite session if the wind delivers), continue to Huacachina/Ica for 1-2 nights (sandboarding, wineries), then Nazca for 1 night (Lines overflight), before continuing overland to Arequipa/Cusco or looping back to Lima. Kiters short on time often treat Paracas as a single-night wind-chasing detour from Lima rather than a standalone base.
