Ameland (Hollum / Noordzee)
Ameland is a Wadden Sea island with three separate NKV-zoned kite beaches on its North Sea side; the Hollum zone, at the island's western village, is a wide beach with strong current and quickly deepening water that independent write-ups flag as unsuitable for beginners, despite the general NKV overview page tagging Ameland-Noordzee 'beginner'. Riding is restricted to marked beach-pole crossings from March through October.

Rules
Kiting confined to three marked beach-pole zones from 1 March to 1 November: near Buren (poles ~17,400–19), between Ballum and Nes (poles ~8,200–11,300), and near Hollum (poles 3–4). Outside that season, kiting is allowed outside the zones except where prohibited. Riders must stay 50m from the waterline and cross the beach only at the marked poles. No year specified.Travel basics
