Anakao
Anakao, on the mainland opposite Nosy Ve island south of Toliara, is a remote south-west Madagascar kite spot reachable only by boat or a long 4x4 drive. South trade winds of 15-25 knots blow side-onshore from June to October over a long narrow beach, with reef-strewn ocean chop outside and a sheltered lagoon around Nosy Ve island for calmer sessions; a well-known downwinder runs across the bay from the island.
