Bulabog Beach
The most famous kitesurfing beach in the Philippines and one of the best-known in Southeast Asia, Bulabog is a shallow lagoon stretching about 2.6km along Boracay's east side, protected by a coral barrier reef and lined with 10+ kite schools. It delivers the country's most reliable wind during the Amihan season, with a mix of flat, reef-protected water at low tide and choppier bump-and-jump conditions as the tide comes in.

Monthly wind statistics
Station: WeatherSpark modeled climatology at Caticlan, Aklan (Boracay mainland gateway) (WeatherSpark (NASA MERRA-2 reanalysis, 30-yr modeled 'typical year'), ~3 km) — Windfinder has separate pages for Boracay/Bulabog Beach and Boracay/White Beach but both returned 'No statistical weather data available' live. Used WeatherSpark's Caticlan climatology (~3 km away across the strait, same regional wind system) as a proxy for both Boracay spots — same table applies to both records since Bulabog and White Beach are opposite sides of the same ~1km-wide island. Confirms the classic pattern: Amihan (NE-E trades, strong Nov-Apr => Bulabog/east side) vs Habagat (SW monsoon shift, Jun-Oct => White Beach/west side calmer thermal). prob_ge_4bft_pct null (source has no Beaufort-probability metric).

Hazards
- reef and coral exposure near low tide
- sea urchins on parts of the reef - aqua booties recommended
- high-tide beach space can nearly disappear on the northern section
- crowding during peak season
Rules
- designated kite zones enforced by the local kite association to separate riders and swimmers
Tips
- early morning sessions often have the strongest wind
- avoid the 1.5 hours either side of dead-low tide when the reef is exposed and sharp
- wear aqua booties/reef shoes for the coral and urchins
- White Beach/Angol Point 10 minutes away takes over during the Habagat season
