Cape Ventė
Ventė Cape is a narrow, 5.5 km peninsula in the Nemunas Delta where the Curonian Lagoon meets Kniaupas Bay and the Minija River, sheltered from Baltic Sea swell by the Curonian Spit. Long fetch across the lagoon combined with a mostly side-shore wind window makes it one of Lithuania's most famous flat-water kite venues; the cape is also home to one of Europe's oldest bird-ringing stations, so it doubles as a well-known nature-tourism landmark.

Monthly wind statistics
Station: Nida, Lithuania (Weather Spark, ~14.7 km) — No station exists at Ventė itself (windfinder.com/windstatistics/vente explicitly states 'No statistical weather data available'). Nearest proxy with data is Nida (~14.7 km away, on the seaward Curonian Spit) - Šilutė (~15.7 km, mainland/river-valley side) is a similarly-distant alternative with slightly lower avg speeds, listed in sources. Both are lagoon-adjacent but neither replicates Ventė's exact cape/fetch exposure. IMPORTANT: raw average wind speed from this reanalysis source is highest Oct-Feb (cold, storm-driven), yet the batch's known_best_months for this spot is Apr-Oct - the batch's seasonal call is presumably based on kiteable/thermal/warm-water conditions rather than raw mean speed, which this source cannot distinguish. Treat avg_knots as a rough windiness proxy only, not a kiteability score. prob_ge_4bft_pct left null (not available from this source).

Hazards
- shallow/muddy lagoon bottom in places (regional pattern)
- protected bird-migration reserve - respect the ornithological station and any seasonal access limits
Rules
- Cape Ventė hosts an active ornithological (bird-ringing) station operating since 1929 on one of Northern Europe's major migration routes; be mindful of the reserve when accessing the shore.
Tips
- The Ventė Cape Lighthouse and bird-ringing station are a popular no-wind sightseeing stop for kiters based in the area.
