Divjakë

A vast, gently sloping sandy beach on Albania's central Adriatic coast, fronting the Divjakë-Karavasta National Park and its lagoon - one of the largest lagoons in the Mediterranean and a globally important refuge for the endangered Dalmatian pelican. The beach is exceptionally flat and shallow for a great distance offshore, which is what makes it stand out on the Albanian coast: sources describe a gradual, waist-deep entry roughly 500m out, ideal for learning and for a huge, uncrowded riding area.

notesThe huge shallow, flat shelf makes this one of the more beginner-friendly setups on the Albanian coast; not a spot sought out for waves or big-air terrain.

vibeLow-key, nature-adjacent - large open beach with far more space than swimmers/kiters, overshadowed in popularity by Rinia/Durrës but valued for its huge flat shallow water.

Monthly wind statistics

Station: Durrës (modeled) (Weather Spark (NASA MERRA-2 reanalysis climatology, not a single ground station), ~38 km) — No dedicated windstatistics page exists for Divjakë itself. Windfinder's nearest real stations (Durrës windstatistics page, ~38 km N, and Vlorë windstatistics page, ~58 km S) both returned 'No statistical weather data available' for the monthly breakdown when fetched (confirmed literal site text), so the monthly series above is instead Weather Spark's MERRA-2 reanalysis-modeled climatology centered on Durrës (~38 km N of Divjakë, closer than Vlorë). This is a coarse-resolution model average, not a coastal kite-spot reading, and it reports a 24-hour mean speed, not a daytime/thermal-window Beaufort probability. Its windiest months (winter, Dec-Feb) directly contradict the site's known May-Sep kiting season, which is driven by afternoon thermal onshore wind that a 24h mean will dilute/miss. Treat this record as directionally indicative only (seasonal wind-direction rotation land->sea is plausible) and not as a substitute for real Beaufort-probability station data. No Beaufort probability, air temp by month, or water temp available from this source.
