Flag Beach
Flag Beach, just east of Corralejo on Fuerteventura's northern tip, is the island's most popular all-levels kite beach: a wide sandy launch sheltered from Atlantic swell by the low island of Lobos offshore, with a sand-and-rock bottom that runs choppy-to-flat in summer and waveier in winter. Side-off wind and a big learner-friendly sandbar have made it the base for the highest concentration of kite schools on the island.

|---|---|
| season notes | Trade winds are windiest and most consistent March-August; September typically sees wind drop off noticeably. |

Water
| type | mixed - choppy/flat in summer, wavier in winter |
|---|---|
| tides | high tide covers the sand/rock bottom and is preferred for launching; at low tide the exposed rocky bottom risks board damage, so riders often avoid sessions right at low water |

Monthly wind statistics
Station: Fuerteventura Airport (FUE) (weatherspark.com (MERRA-2 reanalysis), ~30.8 km) — Fuerteventura Airport is ~31 km south of Corralejo; still the best available reference for the island's dominant N trade-wind pattern, but local channeling around the Corralejo dunes/strait to Lobos is not captured. windfinder.com returned HTTP 429 (rate-limited/blocked) on every attempt during this run, so no windfinder windstatistics page could be fetched; used Weather Spark (MERRA-2 reanalysis, 1980-2016) as fallback. No probability of wind >=4 Bft is published by Weather Spark, so prob_ge_4bft_pct is null throughout; avg_knots is the mean hourly wind speed and dominant_dir is a coarse seasonal approximation (not a true per-month wind rose). No water temperature figures were found for any of these stations.

Hazards
- rocky patches exposed at low tide
- reef sections need care
- crowded launch zone in peak season
Tips
- launch and ride around higher tide to avoid the exposed rocky bottom
- Lobos island offshore blocks most swell, keeping the inside relatively flat
