Ideal Beach
Ideal Beach, at the village of Pattipulam near Mahabalipuram on Tamil Nadu's east coast about 60 km south of Chennai, is one of the region's few recorded thermal-wind kite spots, best from May to August with SE onshore wind. The strong tide-dependent current running north along the beach and limited launch space between palm trees make it more suited to intermediate-and-up riders.
