Moulay Bouzerktoun

A small fishing village about 25km north of Essaouira that became one of Morocco's premier wind- and wave-sport destinations after windsurfers discovered its constant wind and rocky-point break in 1986. It has hosted international windsurf and kite world-tour (PKRA) events since 1997, and was named a UNWTO 'Best Tourism Village' in 2022. Powerful, reliable trade wind meets clean 1.5-3m Atlantic swell breaking off the rocky point and along the beach, making it a spot for confident, experienced riders.

Monthly wind statistics

Station: Essaouira (Weather Spark, ~17.1 km) — Windfinder's own Moulay Bouzerktoun windstatistics page says 'No statistical weather data available' and points to Essaouira (~17-18 km south) as the nearest station with data; used Weather Spark's Essaouira reanalysis as fallback here too. This spot is known for stronger, more consistently side-shore wind than Essaouira town itself due to coastal orientation - treat the figures as a regional floor, not a precise local reading.
