Playa de Vargas

A southeast-coast beach near Agüimes and Carrizal, just up the coast from Pozo Izquierdo, with a sandy bottom and wind that runs more side-shore than at Pozo itself. Consistent April-to-September wind makes it a solid, less crowded alternative to the Pozo bay.

Ingenio is an inland hill town ~13km NW; the underlying model is 91% weighted on Gran Canaria Airport, which sits on the coast ~11km N and shares the same SE-facing trade-wind (alisios) exposure, so this is a reasonable regional proxy though it will understate the local acceleration around Pozo Izquierdo's cliffs.
