Poetto (Cagliari)

Poetto is Cagliari's iconic 8km city beach and one of Sardinia's best-known kite spots, close enough to walk or bus to from downtown. It is windy nearly year-round and hosts international events like the Kite Foil and Kite Race World Championships, but a seasonal swimmer-protection rule pushes kiting away from the main beach in summer.

Monthly wind statistics

Station: Cagliari (WeatherSpark modeled climatology) (weatherspark, ~3 km) — Windfinder pages returned HTTP 429 rate-limit for the whole batch; used WeatherSpark's Cagliari city page. Poetto beach sits inside greater Cagliari, ~3 km from the city center point WeatherSpark models, so this is effectively the spot's own climate. Data lines up well with the batch's known_best_months (Oct-Apr): those months are the windiest in the model (9.6-10.3 kt vs 7.1-8.4 kt in summer). No Beaufort probability data available from this source.
