Punta Trettu

Punta Trettu is a shallow lagoon on a sand spit in San Giovanni Suergiu, on the Sant'Antioco lagoon in Sardinia's Sulcis-Iglesiente region. Flat, waist-deep water with a sandy bottom and wind that works from multiple directions have made it one of Europe's top beginner and freestyle learning destinations, with dedicated kite centers running large schools on site.

Monthly wind statistics

Station: San Giovanni Suergiu (weatherspark modelled climatology) (Weatherspark (NASA/NOAA MERRA-2 reanalysis-based model climatology, not a physical anemometer), ~9 km) — Windfinder's own Punta Trettu page has 'No statistical weather data available'; its nearest suggested live station, Marina di Carloforte (11.2 km), could not be fetched this session (persistent HTTP 429 from windfinder.com). Substituted Weatherspark's modelled climatology for San Giovanni Suergiu, ~9 km inland (approximate, estimated from coordinates, no geocoding tool used) — this is an inland town, not a coastal reading, so sea-breeze/thermal enhancement right on the water at Punta Trettu is likely understated further still. IMPORTANT: the reanalysis-based 24h/365-day average peaks in winter, the OPPOSITE of the batch's known_best_months (Apr-Oct); the Maestrale/thermal summer window this spot is famous for is a strong afternoon-only phenomenon this whole-day average smooths away. No Beaufort-probability or water-temperature data published; left null rather than invented.
