Soma Bay / Abu Soma
Soma Bay is a private, gated resort peninsula on the Red Sea about 45 km south of Hurghada, built around a large sheltered turquoise lagoon that is regularly rated one of the best all-round kitesurfing venues in the world. The southern (Abu Soma) side of the roughly 2 sq km lagoon has cross to cross-onshore wind and shallow, waist-deep flat water, making it the beginner-friendly half of the bay, with a reef protecting the water from ocean swell.

Monthly wind statistics
Station: Makadi Bay (Weatherspark, ~5.6 km) — Same situation as Soma Bay / 7 Bft (same bay, ~0.3 km apart): no dedicated station, Makadi Bay used as nearest proxy ~6 km away. Weatherspark reports average wind speed (converted to knots here), not Windfinder's probability-of->=4-Bft metric; windfinder.com/windstatistics pages for this station render their monthly table via JavaScript and returned no data through automated fetch, so prob_ge_4bft_pct is left null.
