One of the world's most famous kite spots: a huge tidal lagoon on the Jandía peninsula's east coast that has hosted kitesurfing and windsurfing world championship events, paired with an open-ocean side just across the sandbar. High tide floods the lagoon into flat, skinny-deep water perfect for beginners and freestyle; low tide exposes a wave-friendly outer break for advanced riders. Two René Egli kite centres hold exclusive operating rights over parts of the lagoon.

Hazards
