The Spit / Main Beach
The Spit is the sheltered lagoon tucked behind the Gold Coast Seaway at the northern tip of Main Beach, offering flat, shallow water that has made it the Gold Coast's default learn-to-kite venue and a freestyle/foil hangout when the sea breeze fills in. It also serves as the launchpad for downwinders across the Broadwater to South Stradbroke Island.
