Tramore is a seaside town on Ireland's south coast, County Waterford, built around a large sheltered bay. Wikipedia states the town 'has become renowned as a surfing location in Ireland, as well as other watersports including kitesurfing and windsurfing', with the sport introduced to the town in 1967. There is no other Waterford entry in the current dataset; the nearest known spot, Duncannon, is across Waterford Harbour in County Wexford.

A separate, sheltered tidal lagoon ('Backstrand') lies behind the sand spit but is a designated conservation area (see hazards/open_questions) — it is not confirmed whether that lagoon is used for kiting.
