Valdevaqueros
An iconic dune-backed bay a few kilometres north of Tarifa town, overlooked by the huge Duna de Valdevaqueros. Narrower and more scenic than Los Lances, with a rockier southern end that offers wave riding, and thermal-reinforced Poniente that makes it one of the most reliable and most crowded spots in the area.

Monthly wind statistics
Station: Tarifa town (Weatherspark (NASA MERRA-2 reanalysis, 1980-2016), ~7.8 km) — windfinder.com unreachable (429 all session). Same Tarifa town model, ~7.8km away. Same caveat as Los Lances/Punta Paloma re: winter-storm-dominated average understating the true Venturi-driven kiteable season; trust known_best_months (Mar-Oct) from the batch input.

Hazards

Rules
- A windsurf/kite bathing-separation zone applies 15 June-15 September
- Kitesurfing is permitted year-round outside the peak bather zones
Tips
- Carry a range of kite sizes (roughly 4-14m) given the wind swings between Poniente and Levante
- The southern section is the go-to for wave riding on Levante swell
- Climb the dune for the classic Tarifa photo and to check conditions before rigging
