Varadero (Kite Beach)

Varadero's kite beach sits at the eastern end of the 25km Hicacos Peninsula in front of the Meliá/Paradisus resort strip, offering flat water, wide sand and reliable NE trade winds from November to April. It is Cuba's most infrastructure-rich kite spot, with a handful of seasonal schools (including Cuba Kiters) and equipment rental, and is rated suitable for all levels; a full-peninsula downwinder is a popular option in good wind.
