Grado

Grado is a genteel northern-Adriatic island resort and old thermal spa town between Venice and Trieste - pedestrianized old center, lagoon boat trips, and a very un-edgy, family/wellness holiday feel rather than a kite-scene town. It suits kiters who want a quiet, pretty base with real off-water culture (Roman/early-Christian history, lagoon nature) rather than nightlife.
