Praia Formosa

Local kite sources describe the water as flat to choppy with a small rocky launch, while surf sources describe a point break that can produce lefts and rights on SW groundswell, so riders should expect mixed open-water conditions rather than a forgiving sandy training beach. It is not a beginner destination unless supervised by a professional, because of rocks, tight launch space, swimmers and limited verified rescue. The beach is lifeguarded for bathers in the 2026 bathing season and has parking, changing rooms, first aid and beach facilities, but no dedicated kite rescue was verified.
